Keep Shakespeare Free
The sun begins its lazy descent as you recline on your picnic blanket in the grass and wait for the curtain to go up on Shakespeare in the Park. You briefly scan the crowd, wondering where your teenage daughter has darted off to. A smile crosses your face as you realize you know exactly where she is – backstage preparing for her professional debut in the play you’re about to watch. Your teenager, performing Shakespeare, side-by-side with award-winning professional actors. That’s where New Village Arts wants to take you with The Shakespeare Network, an educational outreach program that will have your daughter, grandson, or nephew begging to go to camp each summer.
NVA’s Shakespeare in the Park program is only one of three legs of The Shakespeare Network program. The Artists In The Schools program and the Junior Ensemble make up the other 2 components. These 3 parts work together to create dynamic arts education programming for teenagers that develops artistic and personal growth and fosters community involvement.
Thanks to a generous donation from the Carlsbad Charitable Foundation, New Village Arts is thrilled to bring you Shakespeare’s Much Ado About Nothing August 2 – August 12 at Pacific Ridge School in Carlsbad.
Please join the Carlsbad Charitable Foundation in supporting New Village Arts’ The Shakespeare Network. This is just the second year of the program and with your help this invaluable educational outlet will continue to grow for years to come.
Thank you for your support, and we hope to see you in the Park!
