Mindful Theatre

Mindful Theatre is a new program for seniors, which is focused on increasing brain activity through theatre performance and improvisation, thereby combatting the effects of Alzheimer's and dementia. Studies have shown that the arts and improvisation can have powerful and measurable effects on individuals living with Alzheimer's and dementia, and Mindful Theatre seeks to improve the lives and well-being of our community.

Improvisation and theatre have been shown to improve cognition, memory, and brain function for individuals with cognitive challenges. NVA is working with leading medical practitioners in the field to develop this new program, and we are looking for participants!

Workshops will run from Nov. 7 to Dec. 19 in this first stage of the program.

If you or a loved one is interested in joining MINDFUL THEATRE with New Village Arts, contact Kristianne Kurner, Executive Artistic Director: kristianne@newvillagearts.org
